It was a conversation those in attendance say they will remember for a very long time.

But even if you weren’t amid the full house in Central Library Auditorium on April 24, you can now watch and listen in on Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Ford in conversation with PBS NewHour correspondent and Arlington resident Jeffrey Brown. This HD-streaming recording was produced by Arlington Television, and will also air several times on the local Comcast and Verizon FiOs systems.
The two discussed Ford’s fascinating career including his early struggles, the difference between his life and his fiction, his Arlington Reads 2014 featured title, “The Sportswriter” and his dislike of the phrase “No problem.”
Among a host of wonderful anecdotes, be sure to listen to Ford recalling his adventures goose hunting in Canada with his friend and mentor, the legendary Raymond Carver.
Photographs of the evening are also available but the video is well worth the 55 minutes to watch.
Arlington Reads is made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Arlington Public Library.
